Apple ipad 2 launch on March 2nd


Apple has confirmed the launch of its Apple iPad 2 on March 2nd 2011

Apple has confirmed the launch of its eagerly awaited 2nd generation iPad 2 on March 2nd. Ever since the market was flooded with Android based tablet computers like Samsung Galaxy Tab and Blackberry's tab, a release from Apple was being predicted by all. 

Generally, Apple releases its products in Jan, but this year it decided to wait till March 2 before unveiling the second generation of iPad. Will iPad 2 be able to beat the phenomenal sales of iPad 1 only time will tell, but we do really eagerly await for its launch. iPad 2 launch will be naturally followed by some great iPad 2 accessories.    

The iPad is a tablet computer designed and developed by Apple. It is a platform for audio and visual media such as books, periodicals, music, games and web content. It weighs about 700 grams (about 25 ounces). The size and weight is falls somewhere between smart phones and laptops. It is assembled by Foxconn, which also manufacturers Apples iPod, iPhone and Mino Mac In its plant in Shenzhen, China.

It runs on the same operating system as the iPod and the iPhone. It can run applications developed for IPhone or its own applications. With no modification, it would on programs approved by Apple and distributed via its online store. It is controlled by multi touch display, which is different from previous tablet computers, which used a pressure triggered stylus. It uses w-fi data connection to browse the internet, load and stream data and install software.

The iPad has a Liquid Crystal Display with finger-print resistant and scratch resistant glass. It is designed to be controlled by bare fingers or normal gloves. There is a switch to lock out screen rotation function. It prevents unintended rotation when the user is lying down. There are four switches namely the home button, wake/sleep button, volume up/down button and the screen rotation lock.

The iPad has internal rechargeable lithium-ion polymer battery. It can provide upto 10 hours of video, 140 hours of audio playback and one month standby. It is designed to be charged by a standard USB port from a computer. This is limited to 0.5 amps. Like other battery technologies, the iPad battery loses capacity over time.

The iPad comes with applications like Safari, mail, hotos, video, youtube, iPod, App store, iBooks and calendar. It syncs with iTunes on a Mac or Windows PC. The iPod is not designed to replace a mobile phone. The iPad also has about 25000external third party applications on the AppStore.

The iPad has internal storage size of 16GB, 32Gb or 64GB flash drive. Data is stored on the flash drive and has no option to expand storage. The iPad is sold unlocked and can be used with any compatible GSM carrier.

The iPads are not only used by consumers, but also by business users. Some of the organizations purchase and distribute the iPads to their employees. Major use of iPad is for attorneys responding to clients, medical professionals accessing records and managers approving requests. The iPad has several uses to students as well. It is useful in homeschooling and also helps children with autism.
